I'm
Daija Hinojosa

Running to be your
District 4
Collier County Commissioner

The youngest woman to run for County Commissioner in Naples, Florida.
Vision oriented. Initiative driven. Maverick. Anti-politician. Gatherer of people to bring the city and county of District 4 together.

Zero political baggage. Zero ties with special interests groups. Unbeholden to anyone. Principles based.

Daija’s a Business consultant with a focus in Team building & Leadership Development. Her professional background consists of 18 years in Business Management for women's apparel brands with 14 years in positions of senior leadership and upper level management. Focusing on general management, she has extensive experience overseeing personnel, managing multi-million dollar budgets and directing operations.

Daija has played key roles in every organization with proven success in transforming work culture, developing internal leadership and driving results. She knows what it takes to run, lead and manage a successful organization, and she is ready to bring her experience to the Board of County Commission.

As Your Commissioner, I will advocate on behalf of the county in Tallahassee to secure state funds for critical infrastructure projects like a septic to sewer conversion.

This is my full time pursuit. Each week I attend Board County, City, and Department meetings.
I sit 1-1 with Department Leads to comprehend inside and out how to better address your concerns.

This is my purpose to break up the status quo. Door knocking, coffees, phone calls, and attending neighborhood meetings, I have begun to meet each and every one of you in District 4. As I introduce myself, people have seen or heard of me over the past 2 years. The government crossed the line in 2020. You may view my numerous public record statements to our Board County Commissioners.

The people in East Naples need a representative that listens to their concerns and addresses them in a timely manner. The City needs a representative in the County who is going to act as a dual representative for both entities.

Are your property rights under attack?

Under the Consent Agenda, urban sprawl was mentioned. Urban sprawl directly relates to single family home ownership and much of the properties that exist in the Estates in Collier County.

Bob Middleton
Utilities Director

Have you heard the concern “Collier County is running out of water!” Or “there is not enough water for ‘x’ and we must conserve!” said in the area?
One of the Newtonian Laws of Physics is that matter can never be created nor destroyed, it can be rearranged.
Today Bob Middleton answered many pressing concerns about The City of Naples reclaiming 18 million gallons of water in their capacity of 30 million gallons in perpetuity of the smart infrastructure established decades ago in Collier County.
The treatment of waste water and reuse principles exercised within the city portion of district 4 are highly intelligent.
With the projections under the current Water Use Permit (WUP), the city is on target through the present term to be underuse. This includes the increase in population that is being accommodated in tourism and year round occupancy. There will be a slight increase in the next WUP. Keep in mind this is well under the 30 million max of capacity.
The City of Naples is unique in that much of the development is REDEVELOPMENT. This means the infrastructure is planned for, allocated, and available for what is anticipated in population growth.
Bob shared how the county portion of district 4 is facing specific needs with the expansion of the Isles of Collier adding an additional water main that will alleviate water pressure concerns of Bayshore by looping existing infrastructure.
He expressed Metropolitan Naples originally planned 310 units. They are requesting for 500 + 125 assisted living and a commercial restaurant (315 residential units over original plan). They must figure out their specific calculations and handle the necessary infrastructure.
Could you imagine if competent staff was NOT pressing this… you bought property and lost water pressure because 50% was available to you?
Our county knows the intricate needs of our water and has transparency about our water.
Water is complex in our county as sewer/treatment, storm water, private wells, and canals all are integral and separate pieces of a cohesive system. Our conservation efforts are necessary as residents as we play a part in a well oiled system.
Massive thanks to Bob for his time in clearing the air from the city perspective that we will not be running out of water now or the foreseeable future.

Next Generation Rotarian! ⭐️

I have chosen to join the Rotary Club of Naples Bay and today I was installed as a new member!

I joined Rotary because I am ready to make a difference in the community and throughout the world.

There is incredible opportunity to make a positive difference in peoples lives. And given the state of our economy as a nation, we are in big trouble!

But, there is an answer.

Each and every one of us is the answer!

🔥We were not born to be victims to society. We were not created to be dominated by our circumstances and the ways of culture.

🔥We were all born for leadership…
but few of us truly discover it.

🔥I believe that every person wants to succeed and that no one wants to be a victim to their circumstances.

But you don’t know what you don’t know…

Its my mission to help people discover their leadership ability so that we can all start becoming the solution and true agents of change.

We help mankind when we inspire him to discover himself. Leadership is born!!

Rotary Club of Naples Bay is looking to increase their membership with a younger base! If you’re a young professional and you enjoy leadership and are ready to make a DIFFERENCE, please come to one or our meetings on Tuesday afternoons.
